A short ferry ride will take you to the Curonian Spit, sometimes even called Lithuanian Sahara. Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of sand dunes, smell of pine and the honey colored shores of the Baltic Sea.
Visit Juodkrante – the oldest fishermen village on the Spit. Climb to the top of the Hill of Witches and see fairy tale monsters, devils, comic folk sculptures all carved from wood.
Then come to the tourist Mecca for nature loving travelers, the settlement of Nida. See some the highest drifting sand dunes in Europe. Enjoy the spectacular panorama from the Highest Dune, from which you can see Russian territory of Kaliningrad. It’s that close!
Roam around Nida’s historic center and see fishermen cottages, traditional flat bottom boat Kurenas and have lunch at the restaurant by the lagoon.
Before heading back to Klaipeda visit the Nobel Prize winner Thomas Mann house-Museum.
